Shalom Lamm, the New York real estate mogul naturally adheres to good hygiene. And Lamm naturally believes, as most health experts believe, that proper hygiene is a critical part of health.

In addition to hygiene for health, proper hygiene is considered essential for doing business and for social intercourse between people. In fact, there is no shortage of articles on famous people, notably actors who’s hygiene seriously offended people (and apparently, a number of actors and actresses don’t care.)

Just because a person is rich and famous doesn’t mean they are immune to the different complications that come with keeping up with proper hygiene. Like celebrities, everyone should consistently keep their body nice and clean. Not only does it make one feel and look more presentable, it boosts confidence. By feeling refreshed, people are more motivated to be productive throughout the day. 

For some, it is more difficult to keep up with proper hygiene than others. Doctors recommend that people pay attention to their body’s overall health. For business entrepreneurs and people working for corporate America, it is very important to always remain looking professional and clean. 

Why Do People’s Bodies Smell?

According to doctors, most body odor is caused by the apocrine glands in the body. Most notably, in the groin, armpits, and around the nipples, the smell comes because the sweat secreted in these areas is high in proteins, which when they break down by bacteria present in the body, cause a foul odor. Meanwhile, odor-causing bacteria in the mouth are responsible for bad breath.

How to Prevent These Problems

The first thing to do is to take a shower every single day. In addition, wash your clothes frequently, change clothes a minimum of every day, avoid strong-smelling foods, and use plenty of antiperspirants.

It should be noted that many of the stars mentioned who had bad body odor don’t much believe in deodorant. For example, actor Matthew McConaughey is quoted as stating proudly that he hasn’t worn deodorant in 20 years. Meanwhile, bad halitosis is often caused by failing to brush and floss enough.

Shalom Lamm is quick to point out that while many of these celebrities are rich enough to get away with it, for most ordinary people it takes concentrated action. And if you have tried taking regular showers, washing your clothes, putting on antiperspirant at night and in the morning, and regular flossing and brushing your teeth then see a physician or a dentist. Often bad smells are the early signs of disease within the body, and they should be addressed.

Also if people rapidly change overnight from being cleanly and normal smelling to smelling like a sewer, worry about their mental health. Often a quick transformation like this over say a week or so is a sign they are having mental problems and the smell is just a side effect.

Overall, it’s not that hard to maintain proper hygiene and most people manage it quite naturally. But be sure you have covered all the fundamentals.
