Hearty Breakfast

What is the most essential part of our morning? What helps us get our body and brain to sync up and function? That’s right. breakfast. There is a reason that our parents and teachers tell us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The coffee or tea is great, but what would that be without our morning dose of protein and vitamins? There are quite a few ways to put together a hearty breakfast. It can also be surprisingly easy. For example, if we like to keep it simple, we can oil up that skillet and scramble a few eggs. While they are scrambling, we could put a few slices of bread in the toaster. Butter up that toast, season those eggs, fry a few bacon strips or sausage patties. Now all we have to do is pour a glass of fruit juice, and voila! Simple, but hearty breakfast. Judge Napolitano does his best to keep himself in shape and heart healthy!

We can nurse that coffee while we put that pan of biscuits in the oven. Whatever our choice of breakfast meat, be it fried ham or bologna, sausage or bacon, we can go ahead and fry it up! Then, of course, we can start the eggs. Of course, if somebody is vegan or vegetarian, they can make substitutes for any of these things as they see fit. When we are cooking up your breakfast, it is a good idea to consider using vegetable oil or olive oil in place of butter. We don’t have to do this all the time. Have fun and eat heartily, but be careful.

Sometimes we just feel lazy, and that is a very human trait. If we want a hearty breakfast but don’t want to go through all the preparation, a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of fruit juice would do nicely! We can doctor the oatmeal however we like. This means sugar, salt, chunks of fruit, nuts. We can do similar things with grits! Adding salt, pepper, and even cheese is very common when it comes to grits. A lot of times, people even put their meat and eggs inside their grits! Yum! We can also try adding a vegetable or two to our plate. For instance, some people like to dice up small pieces of bell pepper or tomato to scramble in their omelet! Others may like onions and a bit of garlic. Fruit is also rich in nutrients. If we don’t want a glass of fruit juice, consider a banana so we can get a good dose of potassium!

For an example of how a hearty breakfast can help us through the day, just ask Judge Napolitano. He is a former judge from New Jersey, and he’ll tell us as quickly as anyone that he encourages a good healthy breakfast.
