AI agents are ushering in a new revolution in the way employees are completing their work. Productivity rates are higher than ever, thanks to workers being able to type out a few simple commands and have entire workflows managed for them. While most users just see the chat interface, there is an intricately layered system of tools running the whole operation, called the tech stack. Some of these tools include memory tools, which enable an agent to retain and learn from existing context, observation tools, which allow developers to track performance and any bugs, and sandboxes, which are isolated environments for agents to trial new code safely.
However, the most important layer is the foundational data that the AI agent is trained on and has consistent access to. The best agents should be able to access the public web and all of its real-time, relevant content at will. Even the most advanced agents will struggle to produce relevant outputs without this wealth of data. There are some available APIs that help make this data collection process seamless, like the Search API, which surfaces relevant web content in real-time, or the Unlocker API, which bypasses anti-bot protections to ensure reliable access to public data sources.
